The South Ural State University (SUSU), built in 1943, is one of the Russian Federation comprehensive colleges and universities. It is the center of education, science, culture and sports life in the Chelyabinsk region. In 2010, South Ural State University was rated as a "National Research University" and was selected as the 5/100 Excellence University in Russian Federation in 2015. Among them, machinery manufacturing, physical metallurgy, aerospace, architecture, mechanical engineering and supercomputer technology are among the highest in the world.
